We are looking for a Group Lead Volunteer for our very successful 1st Wolds Scout Group.
Peter, who had led the Group for many years is stepping down in July to focus on the Scout Section.
As Group Lead Volunteer (GLV) you will manage a team
of adults, supporting them to deliver awesome programmes for young people. You
don’t need lots of Scouting experience, just enthusiasm and a willingness to
learn. We will provide you with learning and a mentor to support you through
the first months.
This is a management role and we’re looking for someone who can provide leadership, motivation and guidance to our adult volunteers.
We believe that everyone in management roles within Scouting should adopt an approach that combines the skills of both leadership and management.
Volunteering for the Scouts is changing to help us reach more young people and therefore the role of Group Lead Volunteer is more flexible than ever before. As Lead Volunteer, you will lead the Group Leadership Team and be responsible for making sure that all team tasks are completed, but this doesn’t mean completing them all yourself. For more information on the Group Leadership Team, please see https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/volunteer-experience/teams/group-leadership-teams/.
If you’d like some more information about the role, know of someone who might be suitable for this role, or are ready to apply yourself, then please use the QR code or link below.
If you would like an informal chat about this role then please contact Nick Fordyce (District Lead Volunteer) at nick.fordyce@charnwoodscouts.org.uk.
