Or should we title this Charnmud 2019? That right this year was the Charnwood International Scout and Guide camp held at Cattows farm.
Scouts, Explorers and Leaders from across the District were part of the 5000 young people and adults from all over the world, taking part in hundreds of different activities and making new friends, such as a German group of Scouts who camped with the Explorer contingent.
Unfortunately the week had to be cut short due to unprecedented heavy rainfall which turned the campsite into a mud bath! Despite this everyone still had a brilliant camp and it will be one which will not be forgotten.
We would like to thank the camp organisers for all the hard work in putting the camp together and for doing everything possible to keep the camp going. Also a thank you to all the parents who made emergency trips to camp to bring dry kit and for their support in helping get the young people and dirty kit home and dry.
If you didn’t get the chance to go on Charnwood this year, don’t worry as every year there is an international camp somewhere in the UK, so ask your Scout or Explorer Leader about them!
Take a look at a few pictures of Charnwood below.
