The District Commissioner has a challenge for all the groups in Charnwood….
Those of you that have been to the Oaks Campsite will I’m sure have noticed the totem pole outside of the Clarke Hut, which displays plaques made by visiting groups. Not many of these are from Charnwood Groups.
As the campsite is our District campsite, I’m keen to see more visibility of our Groups on the site, and hopefully encourage more use of the facility.
So, its time for the challenge.
I would like all members to design a plaque for the totem pole, for their group section, using these template shapes.
Beavers – Bee, 10in wide x 10in high
Cubs – Wolf, 10in wide x 10in high
Scouts – Owl, 20in wide x 8in high
Explorers – Bat, 20in wide x 8in high
Examples are below.
The designs are to be submitted to me, to then be judged by Jennie Angel.
One winner will be chosen from each section, which we will then make into a plaque, to be fixed and displayed on the totem.
Closing dates for entries is Friday 20th July. Good Luck!
Paul Smith, District Commissioner.
