It’s exciting times ahead for Charnwood District as we welcome not one, not two, but three District Youth Commissioners to the team!
Meet, Tyler Fowler our District Youth Commisisoner who will be assisted by Ben Gane and Raeven Tenniswood. The three of them will be working along side the District Team and Groups to ensure that the young people are involved and engaged in every decision that shapes their Scouting experience locally and to empower them to share their ideas and have a meaningful voice in planning, implementing and reviewing their programme and opportunities.
Tyler started Scouting in East Goscote, then moving on to Explorers at V4 before going back to East Goscote to be a Beaver Leader.
Ben spent his early Scouting years at Wolds Scout group before joining V4 and Pandas Explorers. Ben is now a Leader at QWEST Explorers and a Cub Leader at a group in Swansea where he goes to university.
Raeven’s Scouting story started at Anstey, she then joined Explorers at Pandas. Since becoming an adult she has taken up a role as a Scout Leader at Anstey.
All three of our new Youth Commissioners are wardens and skills instructors up at the Oaks campsite too!
We look forward to seeing all the ideas they have planned for the new year and we are sure you will all make them feel welcome when you see them around the District or when the come and visit your groups.
