Rothley Scouts have made history this week and it’s only the start of the year!

Following the groups continued growth, Rothley have opened a second Scout troop! The first Scout troop opened when the group opened over 100 years ago, making this a milestone for the group.

13 Scouts joined the new troop and were there for the first ever meeting, they spent the evening getting to know each other using a ball of string. The Scouts passed the ball of string between each other and shared a something about themselves, once everyone had the string passed to them they had to try and untangle the knot they had made. After this they played a range of fun games and activities including the squirty cream challenge.

At the end of the night the opening was marked with cake and the new Scouts were presented with their Cheif Scout Silver Awards which they completed in Cubs.

We can’t wait to see the adventures this new troop will have.
