Keeping everyone safe is at the heart of our culture in Scouts, and our teams of volunteers play a key part in this. Whatever your background, identity or ability, there’s a volunteer spot with your name on it.

District Leadership Team
Leadership Team makes sure:
- Teams have the right volunteers in place
- Teams work well, on their own and together
- Teams are inclusive and reflect the demographics of their local area
- Teams and Sections are youth-led
- Volunteers and young people are safe
- Our Volunteering Culture is followed

14 - 24 Team
14 - 24 Team makes sure:
- Explorers and Network sections have the resources they need
- The needs of young people are met through the programme
- Young Leaders are mentored and developed
- Sections and activities are inclusive for all young people and adults

Programme Team
Programme Teams make sure:
- Volunteers have networking and development opportunities
- There’s guidance on running programmes
- Skilled people are on hand to help run adventurous activities
- Activities and permits are reviewed and approved
- Sections can work together

Support Team
Support Team makes sure:
- We’re engaging with local communities
- We open new provision
- Administration gets done
- Fundraising is planned and run
- Scouts has a positive image and is promoted

Volunteering Development Team
Volunteering Development Teams make sure:
- Volunteers’ achievements are celebrated
- Volunteers have the skills they need
- Volunteers keep motivated as they complete their learning
- We’re always looking for brilliant volunteers
- Volunteers get a great welcome and induction
Vacancies in Charnwood
District Lead Voulenteer
This is a management role, and we need someone who can provide leadership, motivation and guidance to our adult volunteers.
A large part of this role involves managing and supporting Group Lead Volunteers, who manage local Groups.
A key source of support for the District Lead Volunteer is their line manager, who is the County Lead Volunteer.
You don’t need any prior experience of Scouting to apply for this role, we’ll make sure you’re fully trained and supported.
Programme Team Lead
The Programme Team oversees and supports the delivery of high-quality programmes for young people.
This includes promoting and supporting Top Awards, and supporting Section programmes when activities or events are best done at Region scale.
The Programme Team Leader will lead an excellent team of volunteer leaders who support Groups with the delivery of the Programme, support 14-24 Teams deliver top awards and help volunteers with their assessments for adventurous activity permits.
Programme Team Members
The Programme Team oversees and supports the delivery of high-quality programmes for young people.
This includes promoting and supporting Top Awards, and supporting Section programmes when activities or events are best done at Region scale.
14-24 Team Leader
To lead and coordinate the District’s 14–24 provision (Explorers and Network), ensuring that young people aged 14–25 experience an engaging, safe, and youth-shaped programme.
This role helps create a clear pathway through Scouting’s teenage and young adult years, supporting retention, achievement of top awards, and development of future volunteers.
Support Team Members
The Support Team gives tools and resources to help Scouts run smoothly in the District.
