Back for 2018 was the Woodhouse Eaves village Scarecrow Festival, organised by the Woodhouse Eaves Scout Group. It started around 5 years ago to raise funds for their new Scout Hut and has grown from there.
The event is huge in the village with over 50 business, group and residents creating scarecrows to show around the village in an effort to be crowned the winner.
Woodhouse Scout group have entered two Scarecrows this year, the Cubs have created a camp scene whilst the Scouts have taken the opportunity to raise awareness of the 8 million tonnes of plastic dumped in the oceans by creating sea creatures out of plastics.
This year all the money raised will be split between the Scout group and other good causes.
We wish everyone the best of luck and we will update you with the winning scarecrow soon…
