Scouts from Barrow had a great adventure over the weekend. They went on an expedition across Leicestershire. They didn’t do this alone, they joined up with the 24th Leicester, a group from the city and completed the expedition together.

The expedition went on an exciting route, the group left Barrow and using their navigation skills, they headed along the public footpaths to reach Rothley train station. From there they boarded the steam train to Leicester station. Once they arrived at the station they were back on foot, making their way to Charles Street in Leicester and then they hopped on the local Centrebus to reach the 24th’s Scout Hut.

On the route the Scouts had to work out answers to clues, which with each successful answer they gained points. The points they gained were converted to pounds which they could spend on dinner and the tuck shop.

Once they arrived at the Scout Hut they played games, cooked their own dinner and enjoyed a campfire, where they also celebrated a birthday!

When morning came the Scouts hiked over to Watermead Country Park before heading home after a fantastic weekend.
